Üzerinde reed röle olan karta bir mıknatıs yaklaştırılarak iki ucu arasındaki kontaklar değiştirilerek kullanılabilmektedir. Bu sayede enkoder sitemleri veya manyetik sistemlerde rahatlıkla kullanılabilmektedir. Kolay kullanım için kart üzerinde besleme, toprak pini ve dijital çıkış pini yer almaktadır. Bu sayede Arduino başta olmak üzere bir çok mikrodenetleyici sistemi ile beraber kullanılabilmektedir. Normalde açık devre halinde olup mıknatıs yaklaştırıldığında kapalı devre konumuna geçmektedir. Manyetik anahtar, kapı alarm sistemler vb. bir çok sisteme entegre edilebilmektedir.
Kart üzerindeki reed röle istenirse dik, istenirse de yatay şekilde kullanılabilecek şekilde tasarlanmıştır. Dijital çıkış vermektedir. Mıknatıs yaklaştırıldığında data bacağından 5V çıkış vermektedir ve aynı zamanda üzerindeki led de yanmaktadır.
Arduino başta olmak üzere bir çok mikrodenetleyici platformu ile beraber kullanılabilmektedir.
