It is a converter card that allows you to connect many character LCD displays with 2x16, 4x20 and similar pin rows to your project with only 2 communication and 2 power pins.
You can turn on and off the backlight of the screen you use with the jumper on the card, and adjust the contrast with the potentiometer.
It has I2C communication (uses SDA and SCL pins).
It is shipped with a male type header soldered on it.
