The QC 2.0 specification allows the voltage on the supply line (D + / D-) to be increased to 9V, 12V and 20V after changing the matching data with the charger. If the device does not support the protocol, the charger provides a voltage of 5V corresponding to the standard USB protocol.

The extended QC 3.0 specification has the ability to adjust the voltage on the load between 3.6V and 20V when requested from a rechargeable device in 0.2V increments.
